Lucia, studentessa al Conservatorio, si prende cura del bambino che la madre, morta di parto, ha avuto da una relazione illegittia, e lo passare per suo. Anni dopo si fa vivo il vero padre e ne chede l'affidamento. Lucia inizialmente riluttante lascerà il piccolo al padre narturale e dopo una serie di fraintendimenti ritornerà dal suo vecchio amore, Enrico.
Primo film italiano sonoro, interamente girato a Roma negli studi Cine di via Veio, liberamente tratto da "Il Silenzio" di Luigi Pirandello e reso celebre dalla canzone di Cesare Bixio "Solo Per Te Lucia".

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION:

Lucia, a student at the Conservatory, takes care of the child that the mother, who died in childbirth, had from an illegitimate relationship, and makes everyone believe that the baby is her own. Years later the real father shows up and asks for custody. Lucia initially reluctant, will leave the child to the nartural father and after a series of misunderstandings she will return to her old love, Enrico.
First Italian sound film, entirely shot in Rome in the Cine studios in via Veio, loosely based on "Il Silenzio - The Silence" by Luigi Pirandello and made famous by Cesare Bixio's song "Solo Per Te Lucia - Only For You Lucy".
