ENGLISH DESCRIPTION:
The protagonists of "The Seasons of the Heart" are Claudia (Anna Valle) and Sergio (Alessandro Gassman). Their love story, as conflicted as the historical events during which it takes place, goes through four different periods: war and reconstruction, the economic boom and the subsequent crisis. These are the years from 1940 to 1970. Offspings of the industrial upper bourgeoisie, Claudia and Sergio marry in the aftermath of the Second World War, with its trail of poverty and the desire for redemption. They will be young during the exciting years of the Dolce Vita and the revolution of costumes, parents during the years of factory revolts and student protests. Their love, born between the difficulties of the post-war period and right from the start ballasted by a cumbersome sentimental triangle, will have a long and hard journey: chased by the conflicts of an era, it will be forced to change with the changing times. Their daughter Emma (Martina Stella) is the new generation that advances, which on the one hand runs along already beaten roads and on the other searches new lifestyles. In the wake of the popular novel, which has its illustrious antecedents in the French feuilleton and in the English novel in episodes, "The Seasons of the Heart" is the filmic tale of a period of time that more than any other was an expression of the century just ended.
